Plan a WordPress migration
Prepare a verified backup and use a secure transfer method.
Before moving WordPress, record the PHP version, database size, themes, plugins, cron jobs, DNS and mail dependencies. Create and verify a full site and database backup.
Do not send source-host or wp-admin passwords in normal ticket or email text. Use a migration tool, a securely supplied backup, or an approved secure-transfer method provided by support.
Test the copied site with a temporary URL or local hosts entry. Verify login, forms, checkout, media, scheduled tasks, cache and HTTPS before changing DNS, then keep the old copy until the new site is stable.
